First Impression: Sozoku Tantei (The Inheritance Detective) (2025)

Oh goodness.

Let’s get the obvious thing out of the way first: the only reason I am starting this is Akaso Eiji. I admit that the premise of the story is pretty intriguing, but it’s not gonna be enough to make me to sit down the whole 46 minutes of… what is this??

Confusion aside, I think first episode is okay. But man, the story is so wild. And I am not digging the two sidekicks. Quirky as they are, Akaso Eiji alone can handle what they are doing in the story.

I get that the point of Netflix is for you to be able to binge a whole tv series in one sitting, but I actually like waiting for an episode. It trains my patience and I think my perception of a drama or tv show can change as well given enough time to digest the premiere.

That being said, I probably will watch the second and third episode. Akaso Eiji’s character being a former lawyer is interesting. I wonder …

As usual, have some screenshots before I go.
