I have never a big fan of Yamapi’s drama. Code Blue was meh. Buzzer Beat was okay-ish (the only saving grace for that drama is Yamapi and Kyoko’s chemistry which I think is also a splitting opinion among jdrama fans). So I was slightly surprised when I saw Shoujiki Fudousan first season. 

And then Alice in Borderland season 2 followed and despite how I questioned Kyuma’s character, I really thought that Yamapi is really growing as an actor. Albeit a bit later than I thought he would. 

So it’s a no brainer that I would continue to watch Shoujiki season 2. I love Yamapi’s acting and character in this, and I also love the story. There’s too much jdrama that are adapted from manga these days it’s so hard to find original story that actually is good. Shoujiki ticks all the boxes.

Of course there’s no perfect jdrama. Shoujiki still uses silly gags here and there particularly with Okawa sachou character. And Dean Fujioka (!!!)’s character is questionable at best. I don’t get the silly foot movement and after 5 episodes in, I still don’t understand his whole motivation.

Well, 5-6 more episodes to go and I hope this will end good.

Not gonna refuse some progress with Enomoto-Nagase pair either 😄
